The Barbaresco Basarin Riserva is the most precious and evolved jewel of the Adriano house. Made from grapes from the well-known Neive cru, it rests for three years, between barrels and bottle, to seduce its drinker with an olfactory set interwoven with small fruits, cloves, rose and wet earth, with balsamic and ferrous gusts. On the palate it is full-bodied, with pounding tannins and a drying and persistent finish. Barbaresco Basarin Riserva is the eldest and most evolved son of the Adriano Marco and Vittorio family, a historic institution in the Barbaresco production area. In the vineyard, the brothers Marco and Vittorio, today at the helm of the winery, take care of the plant, with the same passion as the previous generation and supported by the dynamism of the new generation who will soon become part of this project. The strength of the Adriano winery is that of being above all a family, a small reality, still anchored to healthy values and driven by the ambition of leaving a well-established reality to future generations. This Adriano-signed Riserva Basarin is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the well-known Basarin cru, in the Neive sub-area. A fertile habitat of noble tradition, with plants almost twenty years old that grow on soils rich in gray marl and tuff, caressed by the breezes coming from the nearby Tinella river, at altitudes that are around 300 meters above sea level. In the cellar this Riserva rests for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels with a capacity of 35 hectoliters and a further year in the bottle, as required by the specification relating to the denomination. The Barbaresco Riserva Basarin by Adriano Marco and Vittorio is one of the most pleasant and convincing portraits of this renowned corner of Piedmont. It has an intense garnet color in the glass with orange shades that evolve over time. The nose reveals an intense and seductive olfactory range, made of small red fruits, cloves, tobacco, rose petals, dry leaves and damp earth, surrounded by balsamic and slightly ferrous sparkles. The sip is full and warm, gracefully enveloping the palate, enlivened by a tannin that is still young and pounding, but which will amaze over time. Persistence and gustatory grace able to tell a vibrant and compelling territorial story. Intense garnet red color with orange reflections over time; scent of red fruits in alcohol, wet earth and dry leaves, tobacco, dried rose, balsamic and ferrous echoes; full and expansive taste, with still young and tight tannins, supported by savory verve and freshness.
