Luigi Spertino's Grignolino d'Asti is a Piedmontese red of great territorial typicality. In the lands of Monferrato, the Grignolino grape has been cultivated for centuries and gives a wine that is particularly appreciated for its elegant and subtle profile, its floral notes and delicate aromas. The vinification in old Slavonian oak barrels and in steel allows the wine to evolve harmoniously, preserving the characteristic varietal notes that give Grignolino a strong and unique character and personality in the Italian wine scene. It is an atypical red, with a pale color and a pleasantly light and graceful sip. The red Grignolino d'Asti is produced in the Mombercelli countryside, in the marvelous hilly region of Monferrato. Luigi Spertino's estate is located in Le Mandorle, an area characterized by steep slopes, where the vines: Barbera, Cortese, Grignolino and Pinot Nero are located. The Grignolino vineyards are divided into two different plots, one in Mombercelli and the other in Portacomaro, on lands characterized by more sandy soils. The great care in the work in the vineyard, the use of minimally invasive winemaking practices, which always try to leave the aromas of the grapes in the foreground, allow to create wines with an artisanal, genuine and straightforward face. Luigi Spertino's labels are true interpreters of the territory and of the best peculiar characteristics of the vines. The Grignolino d'Asti wine from Luigi Spertino's Piedmontese winery is the result of vines managed entirely manually, without even the use of tractors, to prevent the soil from compacting and compromising the natural vitality of the soil. Fermentation takes place using only indigenous yeasts in exhausted Slavonian oak barrels, so that there are no transfers of wood aromas to the wine. Before bottling, the wine ages for 4 months in steel tanks. In the glass it has a light ruby red color, with coppery nuances. The bouquet recalls the scent of geranium and rose petals, citrus aromas of blood orange, small red berries and a touch of pink pepper. The sip is dynamic and smooth, with delicate aromas, velvety tannins and a pleasantly fresh finish. Color Clear ruby red with coppery nuances. Bouquet Elegant and subtle, fresh roses and geraniums, blood orange and pink pepper. Taste Dry, with a delicate body and smooth tannins, well refreshing and savory. It may contain sulphites.
