The Barbaresco "Santo Stefano Albesani" of the Neive Castle embodies a charm and a unique and irresistible history. It was 1964 when Giacomo Stupino, acquiring the Castle, decided to also buy the Cascina Santo Stefano which was previously used for hunting: an uncultivated hill full of brambles that Giacomo was able to transform with experience, competence and foresight into one of the subzones now considered among the most suitable for the production of Barbaresco. A vineyard on which we find vines of 30-40 years of average age, facing south and south-west, on a poor background of calcareous marl. The Barbaresco "Santo Stefano Albesani" of the Castle of Neive is profoundly different from the Barbaresco "Gallina"; if the latter presents balanced notes between small dried red fruits and delicate wood, "Santo Stefano Albesani" is more reminiscent of varietal nuances, balsamic notes, violets, roses and spices on the finish. It is a Barbaresco where the tannin is well present and can be felt, giving elegance and refinement to a red that has a very pleasant freshness able to perfectly balance the alcohol content. A Barbaresco of rare beauty and elegance, a Barbaresco of infinite persistence. It may contain sulphites. Alcoholic content: 14.5%.
