The Nascetta di Novello "Anas-cetta" by Elvio Cogno is a white wine from the historic autochthonous vine whose name it bears, located at an altitude of 350 meters. The nose is elegant, with notes of rosamarine, juicy citrus and flint. On the palate it is mineral, of great flavor and with a fresh finish. The Nascetta di Novello Anas-Cetta white wine is a tribute that Elvio Cogno pays to the Piedmontese terroir, especially to the municipality of Novello. In fact, this area has remained the only one in which the ancient Nascetta vine is grown, a grape in which the winery firmly believes, so much so that it has been producing it since 1994, with the aim of bringing it back into vogue among the younger generations of enthusiasts. A bottle that is striking for its flavor and freshness, and which has an almost Mediterranean soul, truly original within the Langhe. Once tasted, you will become its first ambassadors. Anas-Cetta is a Nascetta di Novello that originates from the use of a native white grape variety of Alba, little cultivated today, the Nascetta. The plants of this variety, whose age is around 15 years, grow in a vineyard owned by the Elvio Cogno winery located about 350 meters above sea level. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest phase, which begins at the end of September, ferment spontaneously in steel, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, at a controlled temperature. Again in steel, the maturation phase takes place, lasting 6 months, a period in which the wine remains in contact with its own yeasts. The Nascetta di Novello Anas-cetta develops in the glass with a typically straw-yellow color, characterized by light veins that tend to gold in the rim. The nose is interesting, and moves on pleasant citrus notes, mainly bergamot, embellished with mineral touches and sensations that refer to aromatic herbs. On the palate it is light-bodied, harmonious, with a savory and pleasantly fresh sip. A drinkable product, of excellent workmanship, with which the Elvio Cogno winery proves that it knows how to do it even when it engages with the production of white wines.
