Arneis Montebertotto del Castello di Neive is a white produced with the native vine of the Langhe and Roero area, which gives a fragrant, pleasantly fruity and harmonious wine, traditionally aged only in steel, precisely to preserve the delicate notes of its bouquet . It expresses floral, citrus, white fruit and ripe peach aromas. The sip is very balanced, juicy and savory, with a slightly almond finish. The white Arneis is produced in the vast estate of the Castle of Neive, which extends for about 60 hectares, of which only 26 are destined for the cultivation of the vine. Over time, only the most suitable parcels have been selected and thanks to careful zoning work, the most suitable grapes have been chosen for each individual terroir. Cascina Montebertotto enjoys a splendid hilly exposure facing south-east. Thanks to a ten-year work carried out in collaboration with the University of Turin since the end of the 1970s, clonal selection experiments were conducted, to arrive at the planting of the current Arneis vineyard. After the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed and the must is fermented in steel. The wine only ages for a few months in steel before being bottled, precisely to preserve its varietal aromas and aromatic fragrance. Montebertotto Arneis has the difficult destiny of being born in a land of great reds. Precisely for this reason, the vine risked disappearing almost completely, before some producers decided to focus on its qualities. Its fragrant profile, with its soft and harmonious fruit, has conquered the public of enthusiasts and today it is rightly considered one of the most interesting and pleasant Piedmontese whites. In the glass it is straw yellow with light green reflections. The nose opens on intense aromas of orange blossom and dacacia flowers, with citrus aromas, ripe fruit, white peach and light tropical nuances. On the palate it reveals its pleasant and harmonious aroma, with fragrant and juicy fruit, which closes on a balanced freshness, embellished with almond nuances. It may contain sulphites. Alcoholic content: 13%.
